Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) plays an essential role in virus-induced type Ⅰ interferon (IFN) production and host antiviral immune responses. However, excessive immune responses will do harm to host and lead to autoimmune diseases. Thus, IRF3 must be finely tuned to give proper responses to virus infection.
