  Ovarian cancer, the most lethal gynecologic malignancy in the world, is associated with an overall 5 years survival rate of less than 30%.The majority of patients recur after surgery.More and more evidences show that only a minority of cancer cells with stem cell properties, cancer stem cells (CSCs), are responsible for relapse of ovarian cancer.Ovarian cancer cells are present in malignant ascites usually as multicellular spheroid aggregates.And it is reported that cancer stem-like cells are present in the human ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3.Since ovarian cancer is thought to be a stem-cell disease, it is importance to isolate the stem cell for further investigation.
