Aim: Rotenone, an inhibitor of mitochondnal complex Ⅰ, has been widely regarded as a neurotoxin because it induces a Parkinsons disease-like syndrome.The plant extracts have been used as traditional medicines in Asia to treat neurodegenerative diseases.Therefore, in this study, we examined the neuroprotective effects of plant extracts in rotenone-treated PC12 cells.
