@@Although Taiwan is located in subtropical region, there are many high mountains which over 3000 meters altitude and covered by snow during winter. Taiwan supports different temperature and environment for plants and animals. The natural biodiversity in Taiwan is high, with more than 4000 native plant species. Diversity of aboriginal people is high, too. Atayal, Taroko, Seediq, Saisiat, Bunun, Thao, Tsou, Rukai, Paiwan, Amis, Sakilaya, Gamalan, Puyuma, Tao (Yami), etc. 14 aboriginal tribes are present in Taiwan today, mainly in the mountain areas except eastern tribes.
