Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a hematologic disease currently classified in the category of myelodysplastic syndromes / myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN).CMML is a clonal disorder in the hematopoietic stem cells with myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative features.Additional sex combs like 1 (ASXL 1) gene, which encoded the protein involved in the epigenetic regulation of many gene expression,is one of the most frequently mutated genes in malignant myeloid diseases.ASXL1 mutation are common in patients with CMML (~45%),and generally associated with disease progress and poor clinical outcome.
