Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of zinc finger protein 139 (ZNF139), MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, and GST-πin local lymph node metastases (LNMs) of gastric carcinoma.Methods: Expression of ZNF139, MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, and GST-π was determined by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry in 46 paired primary tumors (PT) and LNMs of gastric cancer.Results: Expression of ZNF139, MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, and GST-π was higher in LNMs than in PTs (P＜0.05).In PT, a positive correlation was observed among ZNF139 and MRP1, ZNF139, and P-gp mRNA (P＜0.05), whereas no statistically significant correlation was indicated between ZNF139 and GST-π.In LNMs, a positive correlation was found between ZNF139 and MRP-1 (P was found in LNMs).
