Object: The authors investigated the practicality of preoperative registration in routine oral and maxillofacial navigation surgery, and determined the applications for which it is at the advantage compared with other technology.Methods: A device for preoperative registration and automatic tracking systems was introduced.The authors report on their experience in 5 cases performed with this technology.
