Brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (St(a)l) (Hemiptera:Geometroidea),the most serious rice pests in Asia, causes a great loss of rice production directly by feeding and also indirectly by transmitting grassy stunt and ragged stunt virus diseases.The amount and quality of nutrients consumed by BPH have a strong impact on its lifehistory traits and reproduction.In this work, the effect of larvae nutrition on larval period, wing-form, egg production, ovarian development and lifespan in BPH was investigated under standard diet(D-97 diet) and amino acid poor diet respectively.
