The exact pathogenesis of glaucomatous optic neuropathy remains unclear.According to previous study,elevated intraocular pressure is the most dominant risk factor for the pathogenesis of glaucoma,this is the so-called mechanical pathogenetic theory.But this theory could not explain the pathogenesis of normal tension glaucoma (NTG).
