BACKGROUND: Mounting evidence indicates that intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) is one of the most important risk factors of ischemic stroke in Asia, especially in China, and is related to recurrent stroke, morbidity and mortality.However, there is less scientific data regarding the relationship between the risk factors and ICAS related stroke in a South Chinese population.This study aimed to investigate the risk factors in ischemic stroke elderly patients with intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS).
