Aim: Aconitine (AC) is a toxic alkaloid from some Chinese medicinal herbals with origin of genus Aconitum, which have been widely used for analgesic, cardiotonic and anti-rheumatism treatment.To assess the mechanism of its low and variable oral bioavailability, the role of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in AC absorption was evaluated in this study.
