The boundary element method(BEM)has distinct advantages in solving fracture,contact,moving boundary,and thin structural mechanical and thermal problems.However,it is not so efficient in solving problems including a lot of inclusions.The main difficulty in solving such problems using BEM is that the number of degrees of freedom is increased too many when discretizing the boundaries of the numerous inclusions using the conventional boundary elements,such that both the storage requirement and computational time are not acceptable.
