  This paper investigates the free vibration of nanocomposite reinforced by single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs).The effect of interface van der Waals forces between two CNTs is modeled by uniformly aligned transverse springs which are continuously connected to the nanotubes along their length.The governing equations of motion are employed by using energy functional and applying the Galerkin method.The displacement fields are discretized in the spatial domain using the improved complex variable moving least-squares(ICVMLS)approximation.The verification of the proposed meshless method in predicting the natural frequencies of the model is examined by comparing with analytical solutions and numerical results.Moreover,the suitability of continuum modeling of vibrational behaviors is also proved.Parameter studies of mechanical properties with various dispersion of CNTs are also carried out.
