Steam gasification is believed to be one of the most effective and efficient technologies to generate hydrogen from biomass.CaO showed highcatalytic activityon biomass gasification toward hydrogen production,and attracted intensive studies.A novel catalyst contained mostly CaO,MgO and SiO2wasprepared by wet mixing of dolomite and limestone.Ficuslacor leaves with moisture content of 35wt.%wereused as biomass sample.Gasification experiments were carried out in a fixed-bed system to find out the potential of hydrogen production from steam gasification of wet biomass with catalyst,and effect of different operating parameters(steam to biomass ratio,temperature,and CaO/biomass ratio).Results showed that limestone/dolomite in a mass ratio of 1 prepared from wet mixing method displayed better activity.Gasification in 650℃ should be a higher preference temperature.Steam/biomass in a mass ratio of 0.5 was an economical alternative,higher ratio did not show extreme increment.Catalyst/biomass in a mass ratio of 0.7 got higher hydrogen yield(146.6ml/g biomass).After one time regeneration,the activity of the catalyst increased and hydrogen yield increased by about 10%.However,the hydrogen yield decreased by about 21% after the second regeneration.
