In this paper the surface contact fatigue properties of TiN-coated 32Cr2MoV was studied based on national standard of line contact fatigue experiment.The results of contact fatigue experiment showed that contact fatigue strength of nitride and TiN coated 32Cr2MoV are greater in 200 MPa than that of nitrided 32Cr2MoV (Fig.1).The morphology of the surface indicated that the TiN film is dense and smooth (Ra<0.3),which had higher hardness than nitrided samples.Distribution of hardness gradient of the coated-TiN 32Cr2MoV on subsurface reveals more rational than that of nitrided 32Cr2MOV.The microstructure of coated-TiN 32Cr2MOV and nitrided 32Cr2MOV on substrate is same,but microstructure on surface of coated-TiN 32Cr2MoV was more fine,and content of nitrides were higher than that of nitrided.It is an effective way to increase the wear-resistance and surface contact fatigue strength by deposition of TiN onto nitrided 32Cr2MoV.
