One of the growing trends in biological research is the development of techniques to quantify cellular phenotypic changes,to get a deeper understanding of complex biological processes.Many researchers use this approach to evaluate:target identification and validation using gene knockdown methods such as RNA interference (RNAi); target identification and validation in compound screening campaigns; and drug safety & efficacy in ADME/Tox evaluations.When performed at high throughput,phenotype and pathway analyses generate a wealth of biologically relevant information which was not achievable before.
