Marine aerosol samples were collected on bi-weekly basis in 1990-1993 at a remote island,Chichi-jima (27.4N; 142.1E) in the western North Pacific using high-volume air sampler and pre-combusted quartz filters to better understand the contribution of marine organic matter to the aerosol composition in the remote marine atmosphere. The island is located at the boundary of westerly wind regime in winter/spring and trade wind regime in summer/autumn.Aerosol samples were stored at -20°C in darkness prior to analysis.
