TEs (transposable elements) are considered to play an important role in the evolution of species.Helitrons are a class of transposable elements (TEs) that were initially discovered by computational analysis of repetitive nuclear DNA in Arabidopsis thaliana.Here we showed that by analyzing the inserted 3.6 kb fragment in the promoter region of self-incompatibility stamen determined gene SP11/SCR of BnS-1 in B.napus line Westar,a non-autonomous Helitron transposable element which contains some truncated pseudogenes but no transposase gene was identified.
