Biogeography is a science that attempts to describe and explain spatial patterns of biological diversity and how these patterns change over time[1].However,little emphasis has been given to the study of mud volcano microbes. In order to study the biogeography of the halophilic bacteria and actinomycetes from mud volcanoes on a local scale in Xinjiang.China, volcanic mud was sampled from four geographically distinct sites and isolated using ISP 5 isolation medium containing 10% NaCl (W/V) with dilution-plate method[2].
