Synopsis We studied ion induced fragmentation of water and methane molecules. The 46 keV/u N+ and N2+ projectiles were produced by the 5 MeV VdG accelerator of Atomki.Energy and angular distribution of the charged fragments coming from the reaction were measured by an energy dispersive electrostatic spectrometer.Fragmentation yields obtained with the two types of projectiles show energy dependent differences.
