Background Patients with diabetes are at increased risk of ischemic events.Suv39hl is a histone methyltransferase that catalyzes the methylation of histone 3 lysine 9,which is associated with the suppression of inflammatory genes in diabetes.However,the role of Suv39hl in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury under diabetic condition has not been evaluated.
