With the continuous development of social economy,the output of municipal sewage sludge is becoming larger and larger.Although there are many kinds of sewage sludge treatment and disposal methods,different methods have their own issues related to the economy and resources and environ ment.Under this situation,how to choose one proper technology,based on the local practical conditions (including economic level,resources and environmental conditions.),becomes very necessary.This research adopted emergy approach to investigate the environmental sustainability of one sewage sludge treatment system using earthworm compositing technology in Chengdu,China.
