Background Circulating microparticles (MPs), released by various cells upon activation or apoptosis, have been reported to be closely associated with clinical conditions such as metabolic disorders syndrome and cardiovascular events.MPs originated specifically from plaque have cross-signaling with macrophages and endothelial cells.Previous reports have been shown that MPs levels change in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary intervention (PCI).Few studies observe the microparticles changing pattern during STEMI underwent PCI.Thus, in this article we investigated for the first time the time course of different origin MPs in STEMI patients underwent PCI.
