Oncoplastic (OPS) has emerged as a new approach for extending breast conserving surgery (BCS) possibilities, reducing both mastectomy and reexcision rates, while avoiding breast cosmetic sequela.OPS is based upon the integration of plastic surgery techniques for immediate reshaping after wide excision for breast cancer.Eupean and american history of breast cancer surgery is a key point to understand these new surgical procedure.Different techniques are used depending on the location of the tumor in the breast: lateral OPS for lateral tumor, J-OPS for inner-lateral tumor, round block or omega OPS for upper tumor, inferior pedicle OPS for lower tumor and innerOPS for inner tumor.
