Background: Osteoporosis and sarcopenia are the most frequent musculoskeletal disorders affecting older people.Fracture incidence as well as the number of fractures increase due to the population s ageing.Recent studies show that a low skeletal muscle mass is associated with the poor structural bone parameters and impaired balance of the elderly people.The aim of this study is to evaluate the bone mineral density (BMD), trabecular bone score (TBS) and body composition in women taking into account the presence of vertebral fragility fractures (VFF).
