This paper analyzes status quo, market potential and future challenges of China oil refining & petrochemical industry, and based on the analyses, several countermeasures have been proposed to achieve the sustainable development of the industry as:(1)Optimizing the crude oil processing, adjusting the source of feedstock to rationalize and make full use of the petroleum resources.
