To reinforce slabs with deficient bending and/or shear capacity,it is proposed to add a layer of 25 to 75 mm of Ultra High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) to the top of the slab,with or without small diameter steel reinforcement bars,thus creating a composite section (Fig.1).
