Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effect and potential mechanism of baicalin on three different hepatoma cell and its toxic effects on human embryonic liver cells L-02,in order to explore the possibility of baicalin as anti-liver cancer drug candidates developed at the cellular level. Methods:The growth curvewas drawn by means of cell culturing and counting cell number.MTT assay was adopted to determine the proliferation of differernt kinds of cells.Comparison of baicalin on three hepatoma cells IC50 values and the L-02 cells TC50 values to calculate the three liver cancer at the cellular level the therapeutic index (TI).The cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometery. Results:MTT assay showed that baicalin has a concentration and time dependent Inhibition manner in vitro in human hepatoma HepG2,BEL-7404,Huh-7 cells, and has a high security. Its mechanism to cause apoptosis and change the cell cycle. Conclusion:Baicalin has strong anti-hepatoma effect in vitro. For the development of baicalin as new anticancer drugs,We recommend further evaluation of medicines in the body.
