Self-powered electrochemical biosensors based on enzymatic biofuel cells is a kind of novel electrochemical biosensors, which combines the advantages of the self-powered performance of enzymatic biofuel cells and the high selectivity of traditional electrochemical biosensors.Compared with traditional electrochemical biosensors, the enzymatic biofuel cells-based self-powered electrochemical biosensors displayed a series of advantages[1-3]:(1)simplified electronics because a potentiostat is not required;(2)improved construction and miniaturization due to the use of two electrodes instead of three;(3)improved stability since a reference electrode(often failure-prone)is not needed.Following this definition,we reported many interesting self-powered electrochemical biosensors based on enzymatic biofuel cells.
