简要回顾了中国石炭—二叠纪脊椎动物研究概况和现状,分门别类地叙述了国内已发现的化石类别和化石产地及地层层位.迄今为止,这一地质时间段已描述的脊椎动物化石包括了鱼类43属49种,两栖类5属5种,爬行类17属21种,分布于15个省、市、自治区.从已发现化石的数量和质量,以及研究现状分析显示,当前国内石炭—二叠纪脊椎动物研究仍处于一个不够深入的阶段.
