Heart failure (HF) is an increasing problem for the aging population, specifically among older women.Hospitalization for HF occurs more commonly in older women and they represent almost 60% of the inpatient population.In the assessment and management of HF following the establishment of a clinical diagnosis, the etiology of HF influences both the selection and outcome of the treatment as well as influencing the mortality and morbidity differences between genders.
