A variety of novel imidazolium embedded silica-based stationary phases and hybrid monolithic columns were facilely prepared and further characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry,thermogravimetric analysis,and elemental analysis.Due to the introduction of quaternary imidazolium group,the developed stationary phases demonstrated both reversed-phase liquid chromatography(RPLC) and hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography(HILIC) retention mechanisms.
