  In order to help itself survive, the Antheraea pernyi stops its growth in winter by minimizing the rate of metabolism in the pupae.During this period, trehalose, the main element of hemolymph sugar of the insect, serves not only as an important energy source, but also as a cryoprotectant for the insects body.So far, there is a lack of research on the regulation role of trehalose in A.pernyi during diapause stage.In order to gain an insight into the changes and regulation mechanism of the trehalose during diapause period, the levels of trehalose, trehalase activity and the relative genes involved in trehalose metabolism and diapanses hormone were investigated.
