A large-scale injecting facility was newly built for several experimental facilities as a common exhaustion system,with more than 50 sets of different types of valves and 200 measurement spots distributed among the pipes of the injecting facility.In the preliminary design of its control and measurement system, the centralized control mode was adopted , in which the control and measurement system was set in a control room, and the valves and sensors were contolled by the system through long-distance electrical cables.The deficts of the control mode are that the electrical cables produce a great deal of radiation which affects the transportation of signals;the signals of sensors will weaken through lang-distance transportation which has great influnce on the regulating precise and speed of valves;the regulation and error checking of the valves can not be realized on the spot, and so on.To eliminate the above deficits, an optimization of the preliminary control and measurement system on the basis of network is described in this paper.In the new design, the control and measurement system consists of two layers of network, namely, Ethernet and Controller Link, where Ethernet is used for management including an industrial control computer and major PLC control cabinets, and Controller Link as control network includs all PLC control cabinets on the spots, and the whole system is conneted through network.Using the new system, the control of valves and data acquisition of spots distributed among the pipes of the injecting facility were easily realized with high precise, and maintenance of the facility was improved under the conditions of real time, long distance monitoring and operation of valves on the spot offered by the new system.
