The polyacrylonitrile (PAN) derived carbon / titanium dioxide pillared montmorillonite (TiO2-PILM) composite nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and subsequent carbonization using TiO2 sol modified montmorillonite (MMT) as dopant and PAN as polymer matrix.The X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) was used here to analyze the layered structure of MMT before and after pillaring.
