At present, general circulation models (GCMs) predict an about 2℃ global warming by the end of the 21st century.Although the degree of the warming depends on the GCM and the emission scenario of the greenhouse gases, it also varies by location.Therefore, a local or regional rather than global viewpoint is necessary for impact assessments of the climate change.For this reason, it is beneficial to identify the location of the climate analogue, the region whose present climate is similar to the future climate of the target region.The information of the climate analogue can be taken advantage not only by scientists but also by policy makers.
