　　Leflunomide is an immunosuppressive drug prescribed for treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Our recent study showed that A77 1726,the active metabolite of leflunomide,inhibits the activity of p70 S6 kinase(S6K1),a serine/threonine kinase that is activated by nutrient overload-activated mTOR.S6K1 desensitizes insulin receptor(IR)by phosphorylating IR substrate(IRS-1)at serine 1101.
