Objective: Caries disease(dental caries)is the third after cardiovascular disease and cancer need to focus on prevention and control of the disease,60%~90%of children and adults around the world have been cavities.Preliminary experiments show that pomegranate peel extracts can inhibit the growth of streptococcus mutans,acid production and the role of adhesion,MIC of S.mutans in PGPE is 6.0 mg/ml.This experiment by studying the Relationship between Punica granatum peel extract(PGPE)and the caries related enzyme activity of Streptococcus mutants(S.mutans)to further understand that the effect of pomegranate peel extract on S.mutans in the process of growth,acid production and adhesion,lay a foundation for PGPE as a long-term natural methods for the safe use、development and application.
