Paramutation is an epigenetic phenomenon in which one silenced allele induces a meiotically heritable change in the other active allele at the same locus.Since its first discovery in maize, paramutation phenomena have also been reported in Drosophila and mouse. Here we report a pRD29A-LUC transgene mediated effect that resembles classical paramutation in Arabidopsis.
