purpose: based on a series of 3,4-seco or closed ring lanostane triterpenoids with similar structures separated from the medicinal material Poria cocos (Schw.) Wolf and in combination of the spectrum data regarding other lanostane triterpenoids of Poria cocos reported in literatures, comparisons are made to the data regarding the ultraviolet spectrum, infrared spectrum, circular dichroism spectrum,mass spectrum and NMR spectrum of lanostane triterpenoids so as to provide a reference basis for the structure analysis of this type of compounds.Method: the spectroscopic characteristic laws are analyzed and concluded through comparison of spectrum data and based on data reported in literatures.Result: nearly forty 3, 4-seco or closed ring lanostane triterpenoids with similar structures have been obtained with their spectrum data sorted out and concluded.Conclusions: spectroscopic characteristics of lanostane triterpenoids are summarized to be used as the reference for analyzing the structure of these compounds.
