Cervix cancer is caused by an infection of the cervix with an oncogenic form of human papillomavirus (mostly HPV 16 and 18).Today several screening methods exist, but each has its own disadvantages, emphasizing the need for specific and sensitive biomarkers.We therefore performed a differential proteomics study on the CervicoVaginal Fluid (CVF).This body fluid is composed of secretions originating from organs that are part of the female genital tract, including vagina, cervix, endometrium and ovaries; hence it contains a wealth of information concerning the status of these organs.
