Origins of Chinese Civilization not only needs to collect,collate and analyze historical files,but also needs to acquire,process and interpreted field archeology information,which can be realized by new method of scientific archaeology such as digital archeology based on GIS and VR technologies.The paper introduced the theory of building unified framework for history and geography based on GIS and VR technologies,explored the technology roadmap for the construction of Chinese Civilization VGIS,proposed the concepts and methods of Chinese Civilization information mining based on the VGIS,given the temporal and spatial mathematics model of sites,monuments and relics based on archaeological stratigraphy,archaeological typology and earth spatial information science.established technological system of normalized information storage,processes,and data mining about historical documents,archaeological data and special research,created Chinese Civilization VGIS system platform and described the function and application of Chinese Civilization VGIS taking Liangzhu,Erlitou and Taosi city sites as examples.The result of this paper concludes technologies and methods for spatial-temporal analysis for the research of human and nature,city and settlement archeology,interpretation of archeological data,origins and developments of Civilization.The research is a useful exploration for spatial information technologies applied on the research project of origin of Chinese Civilization.
