Based on the equivalent circuit method, the effect of bias magnetic field and electrical resistance load on the magnetoelectric (ME) properties of Terfenol-D/PMN-PT/Terfenol-D laminate composites has been theoretically investigated. The calculated change of the ME field coefficient with bias magnetic field and electrical resistant load shows a good agreement with the experimental data.Using this model, we theoretically analyze the variation of the ME coefficient with frequency under electrical resistant load and open-circuit condition, and find that the ME coefficient increase with frequency at a low frequency range (1-20 kHz) and sharply increases at the resonant frequency.Furthermore, this paper calculates and analyzes the influence of the thickness of the magnetostrictive layer and the length of laminate composites on the ME coefficient and resonant frequency of laminate composites. This research can provide a theoretical basis for the design of ME devices and their signal-processing and electronic circuits.
