H.264视频编码标准中,运动估计和运动补偿技术可消除视频序列时间和空间上的冗余度以提高编码效率,它占据了整个编码处理过程绝大部分的开销.本文在深入研究了UMHexagonS算法的基本原理和性能之后,基于该算法在提前终止搜索、动态参考搜索窗口、非均匀搜索模板三个点进行了改进,实现了一种新的基于UMHexagonS的快速运动估计算法,它从一定程度上改善原算法间歇性地过早陷入局部最小点的状况,同时平均节省了18.22％的运动估计时间来保证良好的编码效率.
