Clubroot disease has gained great relevance in all major oilseed rape cropping areas.Host resistance is the most important clubroot control method;however, most resistance sources are race-dependent and face the threat of virulent pathotypes of Plasmodiophora brassicae that overcome the resistance.Pathotypes that are able to overcome resistant B.napus cultivars (ie Mendel) are present in different cropping areas.Future resistance breeding will require the duly introgression of additional broad-spectrum resistance genes to maintain the durability of resistance, such as broad-spectrum resistance from Raphanus sativus.
