The development of agriculture and food production in northern rural conditions of cool climate and short seasons has been a challenge for countries like Canada.Nonetheless, the progresses in science, the improvement of chemical inputs and better mechanization among other things have made it possible and successful.With the uncertainty of the impact of climate change, market variation...and the need to build a viable agriculture and food production, Scientists and Policy Makers are looking at the development of agricultural practices and governance model that will ensure a sustainable and successful agriculture and food production in the future based on a holistic and integrated approach.
