In this work, we chose common polymer and fluorescence quencher as models, and successfully developed a new simple fabrication approach of electrospun nanofiber materials for fluorescence sensing. The fluorophore, 9-chloromethylanthracene (9-CMA), was doped into the host matrix network of cellulose acetate (CA). Fluorescent nanofibers with diameters in the range of 200-600 nm were produced (Fig.1),with fluorophores dispersed uniformly in the matrix. Fluorophore-doped polymer nanofiber membrane exhibited the most prominent quenching behavior among several analogous membranes prepared (Fig.2).
