本文通过统计开设信息管理与信息系统（医学）专业及相关专业的高等院校的本科课程设置情况，分析我国信息管理与信息系统（医学）专业及相关专业课程设置的现状和特点，期望能对医学信息学的发展起到一定的推动作用。

证据医学代替经验医学是医学发展的必然。医学不再是医生个人行为——仅凭藉个人经验和技能为患者服务，而是医务工作者群体与全人类的健康需求之间的一种服务关系，即集全人类的经验、知识和技能为患者服务，提供高效、正确的医疗决策。在医学文献检索课教学中引入循证思维，对于提高文检课的教学质量及提升临床实践效果都大有裨益。
信息素养已经成为二十一世纪最重要的技能之一。信息素养不仅是个体一定阶段的目标，而且是每个社会成员终生追求的目标，是信息时代每个社会成员的基本生存能力。高校教师是信息时代的重要群体，也是国家在信息时代能不断发展的中坚力量之一。基于此，2010年6月笔者对广西17所本科院校在职教师进行了信息素养抽样问卷调查分析，以了解目前广西高校教师信息素养现状和存在的问题，为广西高校更好地开展信息素养教育提供参考。
