In order to realize automatic zoom without mechanical component for zoom system, electrowetting-based double liquid lens is employed to form an electrically tunable-focusing optical zoom system in this work.When the first and the third groups are fixed, the second group in this zoom system are designed by double liquid lens whose powers are varied to change the magnifications and maintain the image plane synchronously.These variable powers can be acquired by changing potentials applied on the double liquid lens based on electrowetting.The zoom ratio of the optical zooming system reaches above 5∶1, and the object can be zoomed in or zoomed out continuously.The image quality of the optical zooming system is evaluated with the Zemax optical design software.
