This paper made a thorough theoretic and demonstrating study on the weather derived disasters and its forecasting mechanism.First,the concept of the weather derived disasters was defined according to the theory of the natural disaster risk theory.And in accordance with the taking effect order of the disaster-causing factor,the weather derived disasters were divided into two types:the concurrency type which its mechanism was explored on disaster-tree theory and the secondary type which was described by disaster-chain theory.
